PostPosted: 0    Post subject: NOT EVEN REMOTELY annoyed with delaneys on ebay

I won the NB Twins Jangles/Tangles MIB for a great price on the 21st. Then I got an email on Tuesday saying "we can't find your package eventhough we remember packing it up, if we don't find it we'll refund your $." They said they would send emails to all the multiple auction winners (several arena members included) to make sure they didn't send the twins the wrong direction.

Saturday rolls around and I get an email that they are refunding the $. No apology, no "I am so sorry this happened and we'll let you know if it turns up" nothing. I mean, it's only been a week, do you think all the packages have even arrived yet???

I am so torn on what feedback to leave. I am so mad not to be getting this, I have a hard time finding them, ya know? And the seller hasn't been very talkative, so I am wondering if they got an offer after the auction for a larger amount and so "lost" it.

IF ANY ARENA MEMBER WHO SEES THIS ACTUALLY GOT AN EMAIL ASKING IF THEY GOT AN EXTRA MIB, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!! I am trying to decide what feedback to leave for all the annoyance factor!! How can you just lose a package like that????
grrrrrrr.

thanks for looking,
SC

The seller is on the arena, they have just posted they're new auctions.

I'm sure if you pm them through here they will help you out. They are not scammers, and i sincerely doubt that they will have taken an outside offer, they are well known in the community to be very fair.

They may well have lost the package, as they are selling of a HUGE collection, on behalf of another collector. You can see by the sheer volume of slaes how much they are going through Sad Its such a shame about your twins though, i hope they turn up

Yes, I can tell they are selling a huge collection, and I am glad they aren't scamming, but I would have thought they would wait a bit longer for packages to arrive and perhaps look around for a few more days. Its not like I was clamoring to have my ponies NOW or anything, I even said that if they eventually do find them to PLEASE let me know, but I never even got acknowledgement of my email.

just frustrated, and wishing for a bit more communication over it all.

Considering the volume they go through with their auctions I think what they did was the most reasonable thing. It would be mean to keep you waiting when they have no idea if or when that package might turn up. It's also easier on them since they won't have to worry about that paid but not send out auction hovering over them.

About the lack of communication: They stated what was going on on how they would act if it didn't show up. That's not a lack of communication. What you're missing is a lack of human touch, but again, considering the amount of auctions they have to deal with, just giving out the facts is quite acceptable in my opinion.

I would agree with CeresWhirlwind. I have been buying from them quite some times now and they always send out the ponies very fast but never mail me about them being sent.
And I cant blame them for not being too communicative since they have a huge collection to sell and I believe them when they say that they cant find it.
Just mail them through the arena and explain what you is upsetting you. I am sure they will understand.

good luck

Titania

As we explained, we don't want to hold onto your money while this pony is lost. If it turns up, as we said, we will contact you and will complete the transaction.

To prepare 80-100 lots on ebay takes around 6 hours. To answer the daily emails we get takes around 2+ hours a day. To package, transport and ship the ponies we get payments for takes around 10 hours each set of lots. The ebay selling is a huge time sink. I would love to be more communicative with everyone but I just don't have the time... its why we "retired" the first time. We have 6 kids in the house and a ton going on all the time. If we weren't helping another collector due to extenuating circumstances right now, we wouldn't be back on ebay now.

I am sorry you are annoyed. I thought we were doing the responsible thing, in both our initial email and in the refund note we were very apologetic. I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time... I can understand your disappointment at not receiving an auction that you thought you had won, but I was very clear that you would be kept "whole" in the process, even offering to send you additional funds if paypal kept their hands on any of your funds in "fees".

Leave whatever feedback you feel is appropriate, that's your perogative.
We left you positive feedback with an additional apology...

So far, by my estimates, Delaneys has sold well over 6 hundred ponies. For this feat, i am not even close to surprised that a few ponies went astray.

The same thing happened to me, but with the amount they are selling...things happen. I was glad for the few ponies i've bought from them Smile They were beautiful! (Delaneys, if you read this, i am StarryNiteDragon :D) And i do, when money permits, plan on trying for more!

I do hope they find the MOC Tiny Tot (little wiskers) that i won, but i wouldnt hold it against them if they didnt. ^_^

As much as we do try to control stuff around here, we have lost 3 items we have listed so far... the thing that bothers me most about this one is I KNOW I packed it on Sunday for weight and shipping charges when we sent out invoices but 4 days later we couldn't find hide nor hair of it.

With 6 kids and the amount of traffic we have here, I guess I shouldn't be shocked to have things come up missing from time to time.

We truly are sorry when we do have a mishap and we do try to do the right thing by everyone we deal with.

Well thanks very much for the more thorough explanation! I really do appreciate it! I think the thing that really bugged me was that when I sent an email I did not get a reply. I spend hours reading and replying to emails too, so eventhough I only have 2 kids and not 6, I do also have horses. I guess I don't see the difference. Sure, I'm not doing the volume, but as a seller you really should try and take an extra minute here and there to respond to concerns.

No matter how many items you sell/ship, communication is essential! If there are too many ponies coming and going for you to keep track of them all, then you might try and spread them out a bit more?? I don't know. It just seems like when I see high volume of sales on ebay I end up getting almost NO communication from the seller. It is the nature of it that frustrates me as much as anything.

So I will certainly leave positive feedback now that I have had a more thorough explanation, but I never did get a response to the question "if you find it, will you contact me please?"
that doesn't seem like a tough one to me, and it only takes a minute to hit reply and type "yes, no problem, we'll let you know" or "no, sorry, can't guarantee it-just too busy here!"

Satisfied, frustrated, dissappointed, over it, but satisfied,
SC

I do respond to every email that I get and every question posted from potential buyers on Ebay (no matter how inane they are and believe me, we get some real winners). I don't have an email from you that was not responded to, sorry but perhaps its lost in a great cyberspace blackhole.

As we said above (and I think in other private communications), if it shows up we will contact you directly and complete the transaction just as it was set up on Ebay...

I had a mix up, too, but they got everything situated and there was no big issue. I think it'd be a little different if they said you couldn't have your money back. I know you wanted that pony, but maybe you need to sit and think about this. They could have not told you at all and never refunded you.

Sometimes things do just get misplaced. I was ticked off until they told me that their living room was coated in ponies and that sometimes it just happens. I can understand that. I haven't seen my couch in two months I have so many for sale items on it.

PostPosted: 0    Post subject: Re: VERY annoyed with delaneys on ebay

I sure wish folks would quit jumping on me about this! This is exactly the forum where we are supposed to express our experiences in trades/sales!!

the tone of the little communication I got was "it dissappeared, get over it" not the way I would have handled it!

MT-do you think I HAVEN'T sat down and thought about this???
that is a little abrupt, I am not a child, I too have sold HUNDREDS of ponies on ebay, I am well aware of the clutter and the confusion that it creates! I realize they refunded me, and I really do appreciate it! I simply wondered if they had really made an effort or if they simply blew it off as more trouble than it was worth. I certainly could not tell from their emails. All I asked was if they would please tell me if they did find it that they would tell me. I think that is a reasonable request considering that the ebay bidding contract is supposed to go both ways.

Delaneys-I have no email from you saying:
"As we said above (and I think in other private communications), if it shows up we will contact you directly and complete the transaction just as it was set up on Ebay..."

I got an email saying:
"I remember packing it, but can't find it now"

then another:
"the item didn't show up, we are refunding"
and I asked if they would be able to tell me if it surfaced (cuz I suspect it will, if it;s like my house) and I would happily pay them again.

all I got was an unpaid item dispute that ebay sent when you filed to get your fees back, no other communication. and darn if that stupid unpaid item thing doesn't pop up every time I open My Ebay (totally not your fault!! just stupid ebay, I guess)

I understand now that you really did look, I understand that you don't really want to be selling on ebay, although I kinda figured that out form your emails too, and I am fine with it all now! I appreciate your responses and I will go leave MARVELOUS FEEDBACK!!!

this particular forum is supposed to be for discussing experiences in trades and sales!!
THATS WHY I POSTED HERE!! SO PEOPLE PLEASE QUIT PAINTING ME AS THE BAD GUY! I think I posed a legitimate question and when I first posted I thought they might have "conveniently lost" the package because they got a higher offer from someone after the auction!! IT HAPPENS!! Please don't fault me because I didn't know the whole drama about selling for a friend... I get it now.

here's my official FINAL word:
Delaneys is a FABULOUS seller and they are extraordinately fair and care about every one of their customers! Highly recommended!

I am NOT being sarcastic! I was apparently completely out of line to be annoyed and stand corrected, so go find another darned whipping boy, I WAS MISTAKEN. Sorry for all the hubbub!!!!!!!!!!!
I am really not as shallow as you all seem to think. I have been *almost* scammed 4 or 5 times between here and ebay so I was worried that this might be another one.

i don't think you're shallow at all silver cygnet. i'm not getting any replies off a seller at the mo, i know it's not the same, but i sent payment 2 weeks ago :/
it's understandable to be annoyed. i know what it's like to sell loads of ponies on ebay and work part time, but if i am selling i set ebay as my home page rather than the arena, then i'm on top of all my messages that way. never miss anything that way.
big pony hugs for you and i hope the ponies turn up soon
