Postscript to the story...
Jangles and Tangles apparently decided they needed a vacation... a long one. They showed up yesterday -- in Australia!
When packing this order we were also packing a very large order bound for Australia and - because of the weight and cost - agreed to send "surface mail" even though we don't usually do so even at the buyers request. Well, 2 months later the package finally arrived in Australia and the buyer contacted us to let us know about the stow aways...
I have emailed Silver Cygnet as we promised and offered to go through with the transaction as originally agreed. I understand she hasn't been around lately... hopefully she reads this or our email and gets at least some satisfaction that should she still desire the ponies - they're available for her.

That's really cool. I haven't seen her either. I hope she is well. I like to go the extra mile sometimes when needed. It shows we DO care!

I wasn't jumping you SC. I was offering my approach - that it could have been a lot worse, and I hope it gets resolved. That's all.

People do make mistakes and should be allowed to have some leeway. At the same time if you are selling so many ponies that you are losing them...you need to sell LESS ponies at a time! I know comparatively 1 sale not going smoothly compared to 600 sales going perfectly is a very high success rate, but no one wants to be that one person on the wrong end of the deal. I sell on Ebay and I never list more than I can handle. My life situation is NOT the buyer’s fault/problem (or something they should become victim to by not receiving their item), no matter how many kids I have or sales I am listing.
As with any situation both sides have a responsibility to elicit a certain amount of respect. But it is unreasonable for anyone on Ebay, buyers and sellers alike, to take someones word they have never meet as the 100% honest truth. ANYONE who has done ANYTHING on Ebay for a long enough time will have their share of horror stories. So for SilverCygnet not to be sure where the truth lies, was a completely legitimate response. At the same time in pursuing the situation, when and where appropriate the benefit of the doubt carries its own amount of weight so long as the situation is ameliorated to a just degree.
An outsider's view,
Renee
