Hey guys i just spent an outrageous amount on a bay breeze (i REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted her...it was gonna be a birthday gift from my mom) and now the seller is not a registered user on ebay anymore! i just sent her an e-mail asking for a tracking number on the package and i'm awaiting a reply but i will CRY MY EYES out if they scammed me....just cry.

If you paid via paypal you should have buyer protection. I would check and see about filing for a refund through paypal and ebay immediately.

Wait a couple of days to give the seller a chance then if nothing lodge the dispute. I really really hope for you that its not a scam - Good Luck

The longer you wait to file the pay pal claim, the less your chances are of recovering any of your money, because once she withdrawals it from her account, its gone. If thats the case, hopefully ebay will reimburse you. I think they cover all but 25.00 of purchases.

I would check with paypal on filing a claim and let them know that she is not a registered ebay user anymore. See if your payment can be retracted too. I know paypal has a 1-800 number somewhere!

File now. Looking at their feedback... 1 is from '06, 1 is from '05, and the rest (17) are from '04. Someone's account may have been hacked into, or they may have used an old account of theirs they forgot about to scam you. I would assume with a low feedback score, an expensive item, and a lack of feedback in the last 2 years... Something is wrong.

I agree. There feedback may be positive but it is all old. And for them to no longer be a registered user right after the sale....something is fishy about it.

Its not a scam, and there is nothing fishy. I sold that Bay Breeze on an old ID I had dug up to use for bidding. I decided to sell on that id because I know technically I'm not supposed to sell her and I would probably take some flak for it, but it was either that or not pay my mortgage. I'm in some serious financial problems right now and hated to part with her though. I pm'd the buyer as well as emailed her the Delivery information. I'm having some issues with ebay right now, that I'm trying to get straightened out. But rest assured everyone, she is not being scammed.

I also thank the one person who said to give the seller (me) the benefit of the doubt before filing a claim. That is all I need right now to have my paypal put on hold too!

I emailed you too with the delivery confirmation number I got from USPS. I will take it to the post office in the morning to purchase the insurance so she is on her way.

I am glad that you got your pony! I have seen many people lose out from ebay. Also to the seller I apologize if we seemed harsh. Ebays rules are sooo sticky and if you don't file immediately you lose out. We lost $500 that way on a transaction gone bad. So it is nothing against you I promise!

Oh, I'm glad it wasn't a scam. Sorry for jumping to conclusions so fast... the feedback thing and the deleted account really did look worrisome. My apologies if you found my post offensive at all. I was just really concerned about the fact that such an expensive item came from an account that hadn't been used.
