PostPosted: 0    Post subject: Canada post problems...what can I do?

I know that ponypunk had to wait 5 weeks for her Rapunzel to arrive from Canada, but its almost been 2 months since FairlyVanilla sent out my fancy flora/sunshine blossom set...and its not here...I've gotten 2 other packages from canada so far (they've only taken a week and a half to arrive)...and I don't think that I should doubt that she sent the package on March 3rd...but its just so odd to not have it by now!...any help or advice? Huh

Di she get any kind of tracking number or send it insured? I know sometimes things can get held up in customs but that seems like a bit long.

No, she said it was too expensive...I sent her an email today and asked her for a copy of the receipt from the PO from when she sent it, so if I see a copy, I'll have something to console me I guess...I'm just bummed!

Getting a copy of the receipt is a good idea. Maybe she accidently sent it surface mail and not airmail?

try to ask her in what shipping method she sent it? i got fancy flora and sunshine blossom from amethyst and she lives in canada but it took only 1 week for it to get to me Huh if she sent it expedited, then it would take forever to get there seeing that's how long it took rapunzel to get to me Look Round

If she sent it surface mail it can take that long. Sometimes there's delays at the border and the item gets held up at customs. The only way to track something from Canada is either registered, expedited or express post. Expedited is the cheapest and starts at around $15.

the good news is small packet post (which is how i'm assuming it was sent) includes free insurance so if she marked the correct value and has her copy of the form she should be able to claim at her PO if it never shows up.

I was going to say that if it was sent small packet air (you can get away with small packet for that set..I know first hand;)), insurance is free. Make sure she hangs onto that reciept!! If it does turn up lost, you can get back whatever she said the item was worth...if worse comes ovr, tell her to go to the PO and ask for the customs #. I did that once and the packet turned up a few weeks later. The person ended up waiting 3 months..but it arrived safe.

She said she didn't have a tracking # or insurance when I contacted her about the ponies not being here yet...I'm not trying to stir anything up, but its just really odd that they aren't here yet...so anywho, should she have that info if the package was sent by air even if it wasn't purchased?

I'm not from Canada but she should have a receipt! Did you pay by Paypal? If so file against her right away. If the pony shows up you can always repay. It just sounds fishy her not having any proof of mailing.

Ask for proff of sending. She should have gotton a reciept, no matter how the package was sent. You dont get a number with the free insurance, you go to the PO with the reciept and they track it down if theres been a problem. They dont recommend you do that for (I think it was ) 60 days after the package was sent.

She said she had the receipt when I emailed her worried that they hadn't arrived after another package from Canada did (which I purchased still after our transaction)...I told her I'd wait a few more weeks (back in March)...it was a trade...

...I don't know what will happen b/c I'm moving in a week and a half back home (4 hours away), I thought they'd be here almost 2 months later...so *sigh*...and I really don't think that she's a scammer...she's only had positive feedback here on the arena...real life problems are preventing her from communicating regularly, and I'm ok with that...but it still worries me somewhat that the ponies are actually lost or something...

If worse comes over, She can claim the value of the ponies that she put on the sticker. It should be on the reciept as well. All you have to do is hope that she put the correct value in.

Do Canada reciepts have customs label #'s on them? On the US receipt it prints out the customs label number. I can then enter that number as a tracking number on usps.com sometimes it gives me all the information other times only that I sent the package but it always gives the time and date the package was accepted, (when I sent).

I know you want to give Fairlyvanilla the benefit of the doubt but her feedback is limited, that makes me uneasy.

I have one here with me. I dont see a tracking number, but on the back it says:

"Coverage for loss or damage is available up to $100 for small packet and you must have your Canada Post cash reciept and shipping abel ((these 2 are stapled together)) for proof of mailing and to confirm the value of the mailed item."

It also gives a number to customer service to make a claim. LMK if you want it.

I'm having probs too i sent something over a month ago and it has not arrived it was within canada and I thought i kept my recipt but when you mail in canada it only looks like a normal recipt so i think i lost it. so now i'll end up being out my stuff because i will likely send her stuff back or give her a credit for more stuff. it really sucks when things dont get where theyre going.
