Two weeks ago I listed like 10 lots on ebay. RIGHT at the top of the auction in BIG BIG BIG letters it said no credit cards.
3 of the 10 people payed me with a credit card. They were 0.99 and 0.50 payments. One stupid woman is now accusing me of taking the money from her credit card twice when she only sent it once and I rejected it.
Can these people not read??? If they were from an non english speaking country I could get it but DUH!!!
Does anyone else wonder why they bother?

I feel for you! People do not read. I've had to treat it like a game when I list auctions, "I wonder which auction will be my nightmare this time?" One person last week sent me their credit card number and expiration date. Another person bought 3 items over a 2 week period then wanted to pay with Paypal after I told with every purchase she had to send a money order!

^^Someone sent you their cc number? What a dunce! Fortunately for them you are honest.
Maybe the people think Paypal does not equal credit card?

^^Did ebay say why they pulled your auction? That is odd, there are many sellers that say they don't take paypal...

To be honest I have done that before too - I get so excited by the auction I bid without reading the fine print, but if I get caught out I just transfer funds so it doesn't go on credit. I figure its the least I can do because I am the dumb arse who did read the auction. I used to stipulate that in my own auctions as well but gave up because a lot of buyers would take ages to pay with non-credit card payments. I don't find the fees to be too bad either.

Aren't ebay and paypal the same company now or something...I'm sure I read that somewhere.....
When I use to sell on ebay I'd get that all the time...people just don't read sooooo annoying and especially for little amounts.

I actually thought it was against ebay policies now to accept paypal but not accept credit card payments through it? am I just imagining I heard that? (quite possible)

Ebay has a rule stating that if you are going to advertise that you accept paypal, you CANNOT refuse payments through a credit card. You have to accept all forms of paypal payments.
Someone probably reported your auction for stating that you don't take credit card payments and that is why it got pulled.
The only way to get around that is to not advertise that you take paypal I believe. But don't quote me on that last part as I'm not 100% sure.
*edit to add*
I've seen sellers accept Paypal that don't want to take credit card payments (because of the higher fees involved), they have two paypal accounts. One Personal and one Business account and will state that if you want to pay with your credit card, you can pay to the business account and for other payment forms, to their personal account.

It is in there rules like Batsnponies said, I had 6 auctions pulled but I did not come right out and say I did not take CC but did not take them to this account. I have since reworded my auctions to get by but eBay is cracking down and if you use the wrong wording they catch you and yank your acutions. If you say you take Pay Pal you better be prepeared to upgrade to a priemer or business account or open a second account that accepts cc. LIke Bats said alot of us are doing it. I have had two for a long time as deal alot overseas.
The reason folks sent you cc is if you say you take pay pal when they get an eBay invoice, supposing you sent one it says you do so they use it. I rarely use eBay invoices for that reason.
Also people do not read.

Batsnponies is right, you have to take all PayPal payments, if you live in the USA, Canada or Australia.
As licclefreak lives in the UK, then under our ebay rules we dont have this problem, and she is not doing anything wrong with asking buyers not to use their credit card.
I am dreading my auction ending (I'm selling a book, I am testing the market out, if things go well I will start selling more stuff), because I am slightly dubious about the buyer. She has only 2 feedback, and they are fairly recent, although her account has been registered since January this year.

I did say on my auction, in the small print, that I would take credit cards on a different account if I was emailed 48 hours before the auction ended. Only one person bothered but they were from here so I guess that makes the difference!

| Another thing, do NOT ask for cash in your auctions!!!! This is also against ebay rules! In the sake of protecting the buyers from shady sellers...... |
It's a good job you mentioned this.
Again it applies to the USA only (I am not sure about other countries apart from the UK).
In the UK, you can ask for cash, but ebay dont recommend it and it's not covered by their standard protection policy. So they are basically saying it's ayor (at your own risk).
However unlike many countries, instant money transfers through Western Union or Moneygram is banned under ebay UK rules. Western Union money orders are not banned, but it's hard to find someone that does take them anyway (because of our stupidly high fees and the fact it's extremely htf somewhere that will take them in the first place).

If you accept PayPal, you have to accept all forms of it (CC, Direct Transfer, eCheck...etc). It sucks, but those are the rules. 8)
