PostPosted: 0    Post subject: queroponei

This is a continuation of the thread from Pony Corral -- and thanks again to everyone who was helping me over there.

Queroponei won one of the five auctions. After all my MLP auctions closed, I sent queroponei an invoice stating shipping as Global Express Mail (which includes insurance) only. He messaged me to ask to lower it, I said no and that the listing clearly instructed international bidders to request a shipping quote before bidding (which is true, and queroponei didn't), and that if he didn't want to pay the shipping we could mutually withdraw.

First I got a message back saying yes, please mutually withdraw. Then apparently he did the postage calculator and then asked me to send an invoice for shipping to a zip code in California. He said it's a friend but did not send name or address.

What do you suggest I do? I would only send to California if (a) the friend pays from the friend's Paypal account with a verified address and (b) I tracked everything. Is this worth it, or should I insist on the mutual withdraw (and how exactly does that work anyway)?

There is also a strange coincidence here -- a few days before the auction ended I got a message from another potential buyer in Brazil asking for a shipping quote on one of the other auctions that queroponei bid on (and didn't win, but anyway). Of course I gave a quote for airmail at the time. But yesterday I got suspicious and looked up this other buyer's feedback, it's only 4, one item was a fly fishing reel and the others were too long ago to see but those other sellers are selling perfume and the like, not toys. I don't want to post this person's ID because s/he could have nothing to do with queroponei and be totally innocent, but am I just getting paranoid or is that a little too coincidental?

Thanks again!

This sounds alot like the scams going on a few years back where they got the seller to accept a wire bank transfer to a friend...the seller didnt realise that it would bounce back and they ended up loosing alot of money. Its happened more than once and mainly to people who sell big ticket items.

I personally wounlt do it, but if you do go ahead, make sure everything is verified and to include tracking and insurance. Also keep everything incase you run into an issue with Paypal later. This seller in particular has been known to take your paypal money by saying the item was never sent when it was. Hes been good lately, but it sounds like hes starting to go upon his old ways...

I have Bay Breeze on Ebay at the moment.
He was the top bidder, but because of his reputation I cancelled his bids and blocked him. He became very rude about it!
I blocked him saying I didn't believe he was sincere. He is very difficult to work with, so good luck.

I wouldn't go through with it, because even if you make sure that the friend paid with his/her PayPal account, queroponei could still make things difficult for you by telling eBay that you didn't follow through. Huh

I don't think it's worth the risk.

Nope, no way, don't do it. He's a known scammer; I wouldn't risk it. Keep your pony or sell it to someone who really deserves it.

I would mutually withdraw. And if he still insists, ask for advice to ebay

Mutually withdraw. You are NOT obligated to send it to anyone besides the person who actually won.

Thanks, guys, I started the mutual withdraw process last night. Queroponei probably won't respond to the eBay message about it so it'll be about 6 days from now at the earliest until I can offer them to anyone else. What a bother, but if it weren't for all the wonderful advice here I'd be in big trouble! Thanks again!

Maybe you can just send it regular airmail so that you can be done with it? That way, you can ship it to his Paypal address and be protected by Paypal. One solution. Wink

PostPosted: 0    Post subject: Re: queroponei wants to ship to Brazil now -- update 7/31

Now he has paid me with Paypal for shipping to Brazil via Global Express Mail (this after we agreed to mutually withdraw and I started the dispute process!) -- but from a different e-mail account and with his given name as "Razzaroo" and not his real name. Last name and shipping address are the same as what eBay has on file. *sigh* Should I return payment and demand payment to a verified address even though I stupidly didn't list that in the auction? Better yet, is there any way I can return the payment and just cancel the whole thing without his being able to leave a neg?

Tiki, I know what you mean but I really don't want the undeserved neg -- I'm earning money my family needs here and I don't have enough feedback to have the neg on record right now.

Thanks again for help -- my blood pressure is getting way too high over this. Smile

PostPosted: 0    Post subject: Re: queroponei resolved BUT -- see latest post

Queroponei did mutually withdraw today after saying I hadn't refunded his money right in Paypal -- he sent it back to me and I did a proper refund, which seemed to satisfy him.

BUT --

*Earlier this morning he asked for shipping quotes for other items in which auction description does not say I ship to South America, to which I simply replied "per auction listing this item does not ship to South America"*

* He e-mailed me from account comunicacao at montcalm.com.br to try to resolve dispute outside of eBay, which I refused to do. I can't find a userID for eBay to connect this e-mail address to.*

I had reported him for harassment to eBay today before the withdraw and I hope they can stop him from contacting me in the future.

He can't give me a neg for all this, can he?

Thanks to everyone who helped -- you guys are awesome!

That is the same type of message he sent me after I won a lot of G3's fairly cheap on Ebay. Look Round

I hope everything gets resolved quickly. This whole thing sounds so stressful for you. :nervous:
