How do you tell them apart? (beside the obvioues ones lite Tiffany with yellow hair and such..)
I have understand that there are different versions of the german ones as well, and some of them look pretty much the same as the regular ones. How do I know which one is which?

And I saw these two ones and was wondering, is the last one a german variant?

Last one is German variant.
German princess ponies doesn't have pat. pend under their hooves. It's the best way to identify them. Smile
I just recieved today Princess Starburst/amber. She has pink hair and she is german variant. I can add pics when I have cleaned her.

I have also found a Normal hair Verson of Royal Blue
from Germany with a Very, Very Dark Pink Medalion.

Now keep in mind that all of the 2nd release of Princess ponies
do not have Pat. Pend on their feet, but they are not German Smile

You can see my Royal Blue dark Germany symbol in my collection
link below in my signature.

Or do you mean the first year ones?
If so, is there another way to tell the german ones apart from the regular?

enkeli- I tough of BIN it too, but wasn't to sure if I had the money.. oh well, let the best (and with that I mean "richest") pony win Happy

I was just crusing Germany ebay this morning and there is one of the Dark Pink Symbol Royal Blue princess ponies on auction, the seller even has good pictures of the symbols.

2nd release, yes, the ones like Misty and sunbeam:-) The Germany no Pat Pending will be either sort of scratched out or covered with extra body material, but you will not really be able to tell until you see it. The 2nd release princess ponies are just smooth and it was never printed on them:- Smile

Ok, you and enkeli have my curiosity up Big Grin

enkeli99,
The Princess Serena in your collection
"Princess Serena / Aquamarine",
does she have tinsil in her tail?

She looks like my Variant with no tinsil.

She doesn´t have tinsel, but I have always thought that she is missing other tail (I think that all pricess ponies have two tails, am I right?). She does have pat. pend. on her hoof.
Is there really that kind of variation princess without tinsel?

There is that Variant, I found mine in the UK, which is probably where yours came from as she has Pat Pending. I have one in my collection.
The pink of the tail (and texture) is slightly off from the normal color.
That was what caught my eye when I was looking at your princess ponies right off the bat...the color.
So you have a variant and you did not even know it Smile
I don't think that each princess has two tails.

Variant Princess ponies, I think are one of the most fun ponies to look for and collect. They can run into a lot of money at times, but they are so kooky and different.
And you can have one and not even know it Smile
