Has anyone dealt with this person before? I think she (I take it that she's a gal) is a member on the board here, but I think she has a different name. I was wondering if anyone has bought from her on ebay and has had delays on receiving their items. Here's my story:
I purchased a Mimic from her. I paid for Mimic on August 6th. Today is the 22nd, and I have not received Mimic. This is the closed auction in case anyone is curious. Clicky. I emailed her a little while back asking what the status of Mimic was, whether she had shipped her, or when she will ship her. I never got a response. I checked my email and also my junkmail folder in case it was there. Nope, nada. And I got no emails from her through ebay. She has been selling items on there. The last auctions ended today I believe.
I just sent her another email, again asking when she'll ship Mimic out. She has 100% positive feeback, and she's already left me feedback, so I don't want to assume I won't get my pony. Mimic is currently the most I've ever paid for a single G1 pony, so not getting her yet is kinda making me nervous. I'm wondering if something has come up with the seller on her end that has caused delay, or maybe somehow she missed my email. But again, I just wanted to see if anyone has dealt with her and had some type of delay. Any help would be appreciated.

I just got back an email. This is apparently from a friend of hers. I hope it's sincere though:
Hello there, how are you? I am actually NOT Lauren, I am a friend of hers that was checking on her auctions for her. She emailed me yesterday after not speaking with me for a few days. She is 8 months pregnant with 2 other children both under 3 and was in the ER this weekend due to premature labor pains. I have emailed her AND tried to call her for you, but her voicemail is even full! I am a little worried but I think she may have gone in to have the baby, so she may not be around for a little while. I will keep you posted but please do not fret, she always follows through and I promise she would NEVER leave like this unless it was a major deal. I know this sounds like a load of poo but I promise it is the real deal!
What to do, what to do? I sent her a reply, and asked her to keep me informed. I guess all I can do is sit back and wait...

It still sounds fishy to me, You would think that perhaps her partner could have called this friend who seems to be handling her e bay accounts to fill her in at least. I don't know what to tell you..... I'd be ready to contact e bay if you don't hear something later this week.

She said right there in the email that she's tried to call her even, but her voicemail is full. So if she is being honest here, she has tried to contact the seller. I don't know what else to do but to wait for a little while to see if I get some kind of update. I won't contact ebay at the moment. I'm curious to see if anyone else here has dealt with the seller and got this kind of email also.
*edit* If I was to file with paypal, would it even be worth the hassle? Reason why I ask is because I didn't buy the protection plan when I checked out. I thought I heard that paypal won't do squat if I didn't buy the protection plan. I paid for Mimic with my credit card though. So if worst comes to worst, I could contact my credit card company to see about reversing the charge. I've seen people do that as well. But again, I'll wait a little while to see what kind of update I get.

IF you do file and get your $ back and then she arrives you can resend it. I think you have 45 days with paypal. If I am close enough to someone that they are checking my email and I am in the hospital they darn sure better be with me or know where I am . I mean most people don't just share thier email with a friend, or especially with out her talking to the friend and knowing whats up with the baby. Even if she did have the baby, she should be home by now even if the baby isn't. Keep us posted.

I'd give them some time since it's been two weeks and you have 45 days. I would definetly file with paypal around the 40 day mark if you haven't recieved her. If she sells a lot on Ebay she will need to keep her paypal account active in order to use it which means you'll get your refund eventually or if you paid with a credit card then you can file through them.
Its a shame that there are people who make up sob stories and lies to get pity with transactions. It kind of ruins it for the honest ones out there. I know whenever I get a big story like that I wonder if it's true or not. I am not in any way though implying that her friend is lying as I don't know one way or the other.

I would wait a little longer before filing with paypal. Just think if you were the person who was going thorugh premature labor..and if she only is 8 months pregnant that is 4 weeks too early! Just saying, if the story is true that would be good enough reason for both her and her husband not to have the time/effort to deal with this- it is after all their child and there can be ALOT of complications with premature labor.
And if she has 100% positive feedback and have sold alot on ebay before this seems like it's a "real life getting in the way"- type of situation.
BUT, if you don't hear anything for a week or two I would file with paypal. As someone here already said, if she contacts you after you filed, you could always send the money out again

Yes, I'm definately taking that into consideration. She could indeed be having problems. I understand things can come up. But at the same time it makes me kinda nervous because I've seen way too many times people getting scammed with similar stories.
This is what I wrote back to her: O.o Oh wow, I was wondering if something had come up on her end. I sent her an email before and didn't get a response. I hope she's doing allright though. Please keep me informed if possible, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to come off as rude, it's not my intention (especially considering the situation with your friend) but I would like to know when Mimic might be in the mail. An estimate on a time frame I would appreciate. Thanks a lot, and I hope everything will be okay on her end.
I wonder if this friend is local, or close by to the seller. If that was me, I'd be going up to the hospital right away to check and see if she's there, and how she's doing. Especially considering if her friend is having premature labor or complications, etc. Well, I'll wait about a week and see if I get some type of update.

I hate to say it, but if you are 8 months pregnant, shouldn't you NOT be listing auctions on ebay? I mean, it seems like at any moment you might be rushed off to the hospital and not be able to do anything (check emails, ship items, etc) for at least a few days, and even after that with all the new baby hassle, it seems like you'd want a bit more time before having to deal with ebay stuff.

Allrighty folks: I got two emails this time. I don't have time to reply to them at the moment because I gotta leave for work soon. Plus my internet has been totally messed up all day. >.< I'll check back and respond to this when I get home.
Email #1: Hello there again. I finally got in contact with someone! She is still in premature labor, or having labor pains, the baby is ready to come out soon, and she is partially dialated. They are allowing things to take thier course of action with the birth, so when she goes into active labor she will go to the hospital and deliver. I was not abe to speak with her, I spoke with her husband who relayed the message she was resting. I am not a member of the aren but I do read topics there and I understand your concern. I know this sounds off but it is the truth. Her husband has promised me to have her shipped by the 1st at the latest, he was going to attempt to send her today. We live in different states, she recently moved and so things have been hectic for her. I have asked permission to sell a few items of my own through her ebay ID, and I have done so before and kept up with my shipping and fees so please do not be alarmed when a few items come up for sale within the next day or so. The auctions that ended yesterday were actually my auctions. I have searched ebay and found nothing that restricts sharing your ID, if there is I will be happy to stop doing so. I will keep you updated and please do not worry, I promise she will follow through, she always does!
Email #2: Hello there again, I just wanted to add that I emailed her to let her know what is going on. I am sorry she has not been able to ship your Mimic yet, but I am sure it will happen soon. I hope it does not cause trouble for me to be selling some of my items through her ebay, and i did want to let you know, in regards to what prixton on the Arena's latest post said that she has not been selling, even the Mimic item was listed by me, though it was her auction and her pony. I know this all seems very confusing, but Lauren has had her hands full, as you can imagine, and asked me if i had the time to list a few items for her, and i happily did so. She takes the pictures and ships her items, I list them for her, the majority of the items in the past few weeks have actually been mine, as mentioned before she has not been listing by herself. I had thought she was listing another lot of ponies, which is why the check up on her auctions yesterday, but she must not have been able to and has not forwarded me the pictures yet so I haven't done so. I will call her now to see if she can update me.

ummm....that sounds really fishy. Let me see if I got this straight: Lauren, whose account it is, owns the ponies, takes pics of them, emails the pics to her friend, who puts the items up for auction, and deals with all the aspects of selling except for actually shipping the items, which Lauren does? And this friend who helps her lives in a different state...??
So, even though Lauren is not the one listing the auction herself, she is still the one responsible for shipping the item, and she is 8 months pregnant. So, what I said before still stands: You should not be selling items on ebay if you are 8 months pregnant, as you could, at any time, be rushed off to the hospital for days on end, like she is now.
The ridiculous thing is that you paid on the 6th, it is now the 23rd, and your item STILL has not been sent. I cannot believe that she has been in the hospital for 2 and a half weeks over this issue. I am sorry if I don't sound sympathetic to someone who is having pregnancy complications, but I'll repeat it again: If you are 8 months pregnant, you really shouldn't have the responsibility of selling items on ebay. Especially if the only person you have to help you lives in a different state.
I would file through paypal if I were you.

Ok she sold Mimic but didn't know she sold it to you?
The friend got her emal and can respond to her but has not been able to respond to you? That is a crock.
I do not know if it is a total scam but its ure as heck sounds tooo strange, like she is waiting on something...maybe she was expecting another Mimic or something. The listing new auctions this week is fishy too. See what auctions she won recently to see if there is a Mimic in it...
At almost 9 months the baby is viable. So..I doubt they would not have sent her home in that period of time, even for bed rest at home. If she is THAT dialated and that close, her water would have more than likely broken, if she doesn't deliver on her own they would have to induce to prevent infection. Then 2 days tops for her. Insurance companies don't let you sit in the hospital for a month waiting to deliver...ESPECIALLY that far a long. Most labor does start at home and this isn't 1912. And they are such good friends to share an email and ebay account but do not talk on the phone? Sorry but it just keeps sounding more like BS.
