Since it was such a large sum, I asked about insurance and they told me that it would cost $50 shipping and that they have never had a pony go missing, so I opted for $8.50 shipping price they offered. Tis is higher than the $6 US price quoted in the auction. They are in Germany and I am in the US. Well, I don't know how long German transactions usually take b/c I don't usually buy from there. Anyway, I looked at their feedback and noticed that some people who had won auctions on or around the same date I did had received their ponies now. Should I be worried? Also, I asked them an question if she had been mailed and did not get an answer. My bf suggested I file with Paypal, but I don't want to jump the gun.

I don't think I'd be worried yet, I'd give it another week or two, those have all been delivered in the past 4 days, so it could be waiting for you on Monday. Also, if you're on the west coast of the US, it sometimes takes another week compared to those on the East coast; because the package still has to make it's way across 3,000 or so more miles. Maybe also check with your post office, to make sure they haven't missed giving you a package notification; they did that to me, once.

it took 11 days for me to get a doll i bought off ebay from a seller in germany, and i live in scandinavia which is really close to germany.

I don't think you should worry yet, because shipping from germany is really slow.

I haven't dealt with them myself, but I would give it a little longer. You have 45 days from the date of payment to file with paypal, so if you haven't heard by around 35, I would file with paypal, just in case. You can always retract the dispute if it turns up.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm a terrible worrier and I was afraid of losing the money, but reading all your posts helps. I'm on the East Coast, by the way. Hopefully, within the next week or so, I'll be able to write that it all worked out!

I've noticed that shipping from Germany takes a little longer than some other countries in Europe, and I'm on the east coast, too. I'd give it one more week before filing with Paypal. Good luck!!

Have you received her yet? I had bought one of her ponies from her and she arrived in about a week. I would try to email her again and she what she says. If you want, I can ask her a question on one of her current auctions and see how quickly she answers. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I am very, very sad now. I did not want to do it, but I esculated my dispute to a claim on Paypal. When I first filed, the seller(s) finally sent me a tracking # (with scan of the receipt). However, their postal site said the # was invalid. I left another message (2 in fact) at Paypal explaining that it was said to be invalid. No response. I decided to go to my own post office where a friend of mine works and investigate further. She checked all the places it could have been and it wasn't there. She then gave me a USPS inquiry form for international mail. I got all the info the form asked for and went back today. My friend called our sorting branch, so someone else could look it up in the main computer. I then find out that there is and never was any record of it in the United States! So after I esculated to a cliam today, it said they responded with a tracking #. It was the same one as before and still just as invalid!!
The thing that bothers me the most is that I really believe they sent it b/c of the receipt. They have 100% good fb and claimed to have never lost a package, so I'm assuming they've dealt with expensive tranactions before and know how to package ponies properly. Another thing is that the day I won the auction, I asked for insurance. They replied and specifically said that I could NOT have it and it would cost over $50. (I still have these emails) I really wanted my NBBE Baby Heart Throb, but I am so upset now that all I want is my money back. Do you think there's any cahnce of Paypal ruling in my favor? I mean they have a receipt and record of it being mailed, but the # is absolutely useless.

Once the item reaches the USA the RR777128206DE will be replaced with a number ending with US.
Trying to track within the USA with the number ending with DE will get you nowhere.
IT IS NOT INVALID.
You need to perhaps speak to DHL and ask them if they have a record of it.

That's what I don't get. The German post site (in German, but I used a translator) said that it was invalid in Germany. So let me see if I understand this, it never made it to the US, and is still somewhere in Germany, but is unable to be tracked b/c it is lost. Gee! Then it should be up to the sellers to figure it out since they live there! I asked them to do that repeatedly in the beginning and my requests went unanswered.
I took your advice, Loa, and just contacted DHL. I hope they can tell me something.

I don't really understand HOW the seller can 'fin out' where the parcel is, if the PO lost it, the PO lost it, how on earth could she find out where it is...

Has she tried to talk to her post office? If you cant get any valid info, maybe she can? Or has she already tried (Im a bit confused?)

I tried that code on Deutsch post site and it gave this: "RR777128206DE:
The mail item was handed over to the International Mail Centre Niederaula (office of exchange in the country of origin) on 09/14/2006 to be sent abroad."

I know that if I send registered mail to US I can get information on that letter only when it's within my country. When letter is abroad, I can't get any information on it on the website. I have to go to PO w/the code and they can check where the letter is.

You have to have all the letters & numbers together like RR777128206DE instead of RR77 7128 206 DE or however.
It's definatley a registered packet.

Well, I got a slip yesterday to pick up a package and today I got it. Sure enough, it was Baby Heart Throb! There was no damage to the packaging or notations indicating it was misdelivered, so I guess the fact that it took over a month to get here will remain a mystery.
Everytime I tried to track it w/the # I was given, I was told it was invalid, so I guess I did something wrong. I just wanted a bit more help from the sellers with tracking since they are German and could understand their tracking system/postal system better than I do. Sorry if I sounded too demanding, but I am an excessive worrier about everything and was getting sick over the possible money loss. Also, for the record, this is only the second pony I've ever paid over $100 for in over 10 years of serious collecting. I even sold some of my vintage Barbies to help pay for it. I just didn't want people to think I'm some wealthy complainer or something! lol
