This as happened to me as a seller before (yesterday actually). The actual shipping cost was $44 and I charged the person $20 Sad I didn't ask them for more money though. I cut my losses and shipped the stupid thing. I think that it'll happen again with the item I have to send to New Zealand tomorrow. I feel that the shipping quote was my mistake and I should have to deal with it. In my opinion, that seller shouldn't be asking you for more money because you bid on the auction with the quote gave you in mind. As for me, if I sell on Ebay again I'm not shipping large items overseas anymore because canadapost.ca is sooooo wrong with its quotes Huh

I hope that everything works out for you.

Wow, I would definitely email ebay, whether or not she gives you a refund. She told you the cost to ship was $20, then $100... and then told someone else it was $35? Not only that, but it sounded like she had been in contact with the other person for a while (talking about university?). There is something wrong there, you were right to get out of that transaction. -_-

She still needs to be reported to ebay for changing the shipping price (by a TON, unless you wanted it shipped across the world in a plastic bag? come ON *rolls eyes* how dumb could she be?) and she needs to be reported for attempting to sell the item AFTER you had ALREADY PAID. She had *no business* even mentioning it to the second bidder until you had said you weren't interested. Then the fishy "hospital" dates? You need to email ebay, she is coming across as very shady.

Hopefully things will work out, but this is dragging on too long, actually. You paid what, about a month ago? You only have so long to claim, before you lose your rights to complain. I have a feeling that may be part of the delay/dragging drama of this. Hopefully not, though.

I've also underestimated shipping, and as the seller, that's my fault. I've learned to try to be extra careful with very large items, by either getting them at least weighed for a closer estimate, or just having people ask, so I know if someone is seriously interested. I don't ask people for more money, when it's my fault. Sure, she'd be out some money, but she did get a nice price for Sweetberry...not like she only got $10 or something!

Thanx everyone.....Well I received an email from the seller that she has done a net transfer of money to my account...nothing has showed yet, she relisted the item though cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBa...0035161652
I am happy to get a refund.
I'm just waiting for the payment to show, if nothing by thursday I'll have to claim then at the latest and get my money back through ebay Sad

Edit ~ after a few more emails and saying I might have to claim she emailed and the money showed in my account ~ yay Look Round
