I've tried PMs and haven't gotten a hold of her, and I don't know what else to do! On October 11 I arranged to buy from her a Steamer, and I paid her $19.50CAN on that day- $12 for the pony and $7.50 for shipping as per our agreement via Paypal (I have the receipt).

On the 18th she told me she hadn't shipped it because it would cost $10.99 for shipping it to me, (which is nuts in my mind, as the last pony I got was like $3 sent to me) so I asked her to see if she could ship another way, like plain old uninsured surface mail, or even Greyhound bus. Anything. It really shouldn't cost $10.99 to ship one pony in an envelope.

Since the 18th I have PMed her three times, and have yet to get a reply. At all. Honestly, if it's going to be this much problems to mail ONE pony from Saskatchewan to the Yukon, then I think I would just like my money refunded.... but she won't reply to pm's. :\ I just don't know what to do... as my 2nd trade through the Arena this isn't giving me a good impression.... can anyone offer any ideas? Please? *sigh*.....

Since you paid with paypal you can file for a refund I believe I would send an altimatum e-mail/pm saying if she doesn't reply back you are filing with paypal.

I can't say that I'm all that familiar with Canada's shipping prices, but $10.99 is definitely excessive for a single pony in a bubble mailer. I had the Sweet Breeze balloon flying set sent to me MIB and it didn't even cost that much. It was sent airmail also. Even $7.50 seems a bit much for a single pony in a bubble mailer.

Where are you? Are you in Canada? The Canda PO rates are very high. If you are in Canada, yes, 1 pony in a bubble mailer can cost around $10. I should know, I sent a baby pony to BC and I spent almost $10.


When in doubt, pay for it then ask for the reciept..if she doesnt respond, wait until it comes then look at the label. If it was more than $1, ask for a partial on shipping.

Canada mail really confuses me! I see people quote high prices, but the few packages I have had from Canada have not been that expensive at all. I tried looking at the website, but it just confused me more

Ok, if you are shipping within Canada, its really expensive and based on location. Shipping within Ontario is particularly expensive..I hear it has to go to BC before it can go to Ontario, even if you live within it? Now *that* makes no sence;)

If you are shipping to the US, its actually way less then shipping to your own country. Its fixed for all states and goes by weight.

If you are shipping overseas, its just like the US only its a few bucks more. Its still fixed based on weight.

That must be why it confuses me so much! It's hard to believe that it is more expensive to ship within Canada than it is to ship to the US. Thank you for explaining that melodys_angel

Here. Click on the appropriate links to find a chart (will only work for US and International). Because its fixed and based on weight, this is exactly what you pay for shipping..taxes included. It also includes insurance up to 100$.

As for shipping to Canada, I just go to my PO and get the pony weighed. I could never figure out how to get an accurate shipping quote for Canadian shipping on that site.

Yes, I'm in the Yukon. She did reply last night saying that Greyhound wanted $19.99 to ship the pony, and that I honestly have a harder time believing cause my dad gets all his ulphostery material via Greyhound and it's not that high. I did ask her to just cancel the whole deal and ask for a refund though, so I hope she will.... :\

I feel you have acted in a truely immature manner here and spread a bunch of absolute lies. I told you as soon as I got to the post office and they told me it would be 10.99. The yukon costs more because they have to fly special routes up there from here. If you want to know the truth talk to the post office or the people at greyhound! When you recieved the package you could just check the postage rate and it will say right on there 10.99 if I was trying to charge you extra it would show that it costed less in postage... Anyway I have never had a transatcion go bad before and I don't like bad blood but I really think you are being immature and obviously not thinking things through.

i sent 2 ponies to a girl i know and they cost me almost $14 canadian.

she wasn't lying.

*nod* Yeah, as ive said above, shipping within Canada *is* that expensive. It hasnt been reasonable within Id say the past 6 or 7 years. I know that first hand. A simple trip to the post office would have confirmed it for you if you were unsure (unless the workers are complete pricks..but thats a different story that I wont get into here).

I still haven't quite figured out why Canadadian shipping is so outrageous. I mailed a pony and a moondreamer doll to Canada the other day for $1.95 and it would have cost about 6-7 to mail the same package to the US from Canada.

canada shipping is this expensive because we don't have small packet shipping within the country.
it's either a letter or a parcel - the end.
i once shipped a shirt and it cost something like $9 for a friggin' girls size small tee shirt.
but i suck it up and pay it.

i've worked with torrent numerous times and she's fast, friendly and pretty easy to work with.
i just got a package from her for some cherry merry muffin dolls and she quoted shipping as $9.99 and it was indeed $9.89 - do big deal she got an extra ten cents.
she also packaged it in a brand new self sealing envelope and didn't charge me for it.

Lies? Would you like me to repost every single IM in a screenshot? I DO have them all, you know. Why would I lie? I posted this topic asking for help to see if people had SEEN you, because after multiple IMs, you vanished! When I handle a tranaction with someone I REPLY to their IM's, it's only polite!
As for saying I didn't belive you, honestly, I didn't, and don't. Maybe that's what it is for you in whichever city you're in, I really don't know. I know shipping is bad, but I've been sending/receiving parcels for years, i have a fairly good idea what the prices should be.

Uh.... Greyhound doens't fly, and you can send parcels Land Mail to/from the Yukon. In fact, most "air" packages only fly to VANCOUVER, then go on a TRUCK to the Yukon. So air is useless unless going internationally. Depending on the situation they fly in to Whitehorse, but generally its truck. So yeah, land mail works just fine.

Immature? Excuse me? How am I "immature"? Because I was worried about a transaction, and I was asking for opinions? You're the one getting pissy about this. You're just upset because you're "perfect track record" is broken. Well lah de dah, get over it. it's not like there's a problem, is there? You still have your pony, I have my money back, whats the problem here? To be honest after I got my refund I didn't even CARE anymore, I moved ON. Do the smart thing and do the same.

FYI, I didn't get the IM until hours after I made that post. Why would I WANT to "drag you through the mud"? I have nothing against you, I never DID. The transaction didn't go well, SO WHAT? Deals fall through. Did I post slander? NO. Did I say mean things? NO. As for "keep in touch the whole time", do I REALLY need to pull up the entire IM logs? Everything I said in my post about the dates were true. I did send IM's that went unanswered for that length of time.

rustyRAINBOW, I dunno what you use but we have Letter, Small Packet, Parcel, and Oversize. And you can go Land, Air, Air Insured, Courier, Express, Or two others I can't think of off the top of my head. *shrugs*

ashlesmeister, as for why Canada shipping is high, its because Canada Post has a monopoly on the mail system. While USA has things like FedEx n stuff, Canada only has Canada Post, so, they charge what they like.
