UPDATE: man shes making me so saaaaad. she sent this email to me:
"HI. i am not sending any more e mails to you.
if payment in full is not received by monday at noon. i am relisting this item and contacting e bay.
i have been fair with shipping and insurance.
it sems to me that all you want is for me to lower my price. i will not do this. so either pay me. or forget the xmas gift to yourself. "

Seriously... ** ***** ********. I dont care anymore.

Urgh... so i won sweet dreams crib on ebay with all access.

Shipping and handling via USPS Economy Letter Post: US $15.00
Shipping insurance: (required) US $5.00

Erhm... its from the US, and it just seems much with 15$. On the dropdown,
it says shipping within the US would be 8-9$. Isnt that a big difference?

I knew about the insurance and that its required, but really, 5$? Is that true?

So she wants me to pay 15$ for shipping plus insurance 5$... erhm...

Hmm, i imagine if she sends it assembled it may cost that much, purely because of the size of box needed.

Unassembled i cannot see it costing that much.

Actually, looking at what you wrote, those prices seem to be for Surface... i can see it costing that much assembled in a box airmail, but never surface...

And i don't see the difference between US and Int as that huge either Smile

Economy i would imagine is 4-6 weeks.

The Sweet Dreams crib can be taken apart, so that is could be packaged in a bubble mailer envelope.

If they ship it all put together, it will need a box, and boxes are usually more expensive to mail than envelopes.

How much was the crib? As far as I know it's $1.30US to insure the first $50. The $15 could be right for shipping if it's all in it's box and well packaged. I would email her questioning the insurance cost and check to see if it's being sent airmail.

Ok...so weight wise is is probably in the 2lb range...so I looked up some prices for you Smile

Air Letter Post 4-10 days (envelope) - $15-18
Air Parcel Post 4-10 days (box) - $20-23
Global Priority 4-6 days (box) - $15-18
Economy Letter 4-6 weeks (envelope) - $8-11
Economy Parcel 4-6 weeks (box) - Up to 5 lbs for $23.25

Insurance is only available for Parcel Post Items and for $50 coverage is $1.95

I hope this helps Smile I have spent alot of time learning our Postal Services here in the US so I know when I am being ripped off Happy

I didn't think you could purchase insurance on items shipped internationally. Is she shipping from the US to you in Sweden?

You can purchase insurance but you have to look under specific country codes and what each countries rules are Smile I find that by using usps.com and looking at the country guidelines I tend to know more than the teller at the PO. I have learned over time that if I know what I want when I go to the post office...usually someone there can figure out how to make it happen.

According to USPS.com insurance can be purchased for packages from here to Sweden but they must be Parcel Poke Tounge

*nod* I know insurance can be bought for international packages, they just have some strict guidelines.

Did she tell you which way she was going to send the package to you? Insurance can only be added if a package is being sent specific ways. I would ask her how she plans on sending it and if she has an actual post office quote, or ask her what the package weighs and I can get you a quote.
