Collecting Since: Since I was about nine years old, with a few breaks and regrets in between.


Who was your first pony, EVER? How did you get it? How old were you?
Majesty. I'd guess I was around nine years old and in fourth grade. I started out with fakies in my collection. I found a Majesty at a local flea market and fell in love with her. I then started to look for authentic MLPs.

What generation(s) do you primarily collect? I collect them all, but I tend to spend more money on G1s. They are my favorite generation.

Who is your favorite and least favorite pony? Why? It is impossible for me to pick a favorite as I have so many I like. To name a few - Applejack, Sparkler, Red Roses, Posey, etc.
My least favorites would be Tootsie, the Brush n' Grow Ponies, and BBE babies. None of them really appeal to me at all.

How do your family and friends feel about your pony habit...or are you still in the collecting closet?
They supported it when I was in my teens. They'd get up at the crack of down with me on weekends and drive up to an hour away to attend certain flea markets. They even bought me most of my collection.
But now, they think I am wasting my money. My mom even tries to get me to sell them. I will never do that, of course.


Do you ever see yourself *not* collecting anymore? What do you think would make you stop?
I could certainly stop, yes. I have taken several times of hiatus in my collecting over the years. But I will always love them.

Tell the truth! Do you ever still play with your ponies?
The only thing I really do is dress them up or mess with their hair.

I'd say forget that job!

How many pony meets/cons have you been to?
None, unfortunately.

Can you leave ponies behind at boot sales/ thrift shops etc, or do you have to rescue them?
Certainly! If it's overpriced and I already have it, why not? Or if it's in such manky and gross condition that I don't even want to touch it, then yes. But if its super cheap and in decent condition, I usually try to take them home. But I have no issues with leaving G3s behind. I just try to get G1s.

YOUR COLLECTION
What got you started collecting as an adult? I basically collected into my adult years. When I was 13 I sold off my first collection to go on a vacation. I regreted it a couple years later and started collecting again at about 15 years old.

About how many ponies are in your herd right now?

I have no clue! I'd say in total I have somewhere between 500-700 ponies. I haven't counted in a long time.

What is your ultimate collecting goal?
To have as many ponies made as possible. I'd love to own them all but that is impossible.

What's your biggest collecting accomplishment to date?
I guess getting my Brazilian collector's pose Gusty. I wanted her forever and got her off of eBay years ago.

What's your biggest collecting regret?

Selling off my collection when I was 13 for a stupid vacation I didn't even enjoy. I still beat myself up over it.

What's the one pony that just seems to elude you?
Tootsie. I think she's ugly as sin but she's so common and yet I have never managed to snag her.

Who is your grail pony and why? Do you have it yet?
I have seen a Sparkler that's white with blue hair in the collector's pose. I'd love to have her but I don't think I'd ever be able to afford her, let alone found someone selling her.

A couple hundred, including fakies.

Who were the good guys and bad guys of your childhood herd?
My cousin and I always played ponies together. We'd randomly pick evil girl ponies that try to steal the boyfriends away from other ponies.

What's a fun or funny memory you have about ponies from when you were little?
When my cousin and I were little we went to church and each brought ponies with us. I had Bubblefish and she had Hula Hula. She kept on playing too loud during the service and my aunt had to keep on telling her to be quiet.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to read, play with my dog, play video games, watch anime, and spend time with my boyfriend.

I am very into collecting anime DVDs and manga books. My collection of them is huge in a very scary way, people tell me.

It's a wee bit too personal and graphic to actually put here, lol!

Nope. I'm not really someone who is crazy about children.

I love Heart Throb because she's my first. I also love Moonstone.
I don't like Lickety-Split and Posey. No idea why but it's not the pose.

Nightlight, because it's too expensive... but I'd love to have her.
Rapunzel and other nirvanas, because I don't see why I should pay this much money for them...

Hubby understands and is pony hunting on flea markets for me.
My family thinks I'm crazy and absolutely can't understand me.
My friends think I'm crazy and cool.

Who was your first pony, EVER? How did you get it? How old were you? My first pony EVER was Quackers. I know that my mom got her for me, but I don't remember if she was a birthday present, Christmas present, or a "just-because" gift. I was only three when I got her but she was well taken care of :-)

What generation(s) do you primarily collect? G1!

Who is your favorite and least favorite pony? Why? My favorite is Baby Rainribbon because she's the first MLP that I picked out for myself from the store and I love the entire Rainbow Babies set. My least favorite are the Eyelash Princesses. I've never seen one in person, so maybe my opinion might change then, but the lashes are just kinda strange to me.

Who is the one pony you have sworn you'll NEVER OWN IN A MILLION YEARS and why? Ladybird, because I can't imagine a time when I'd have $1000+ burning a hole in my pocket and not have anything more important to spend it on ;-)

How do your family and friends feel about your pony habit...or are you still in the collecting closet? They tease me about it sometimes, but they get ponies for me too...really nice ones!

Do you ever see yourself *not* collecting anymore? What do you think would make you stop? I'd stop collecting if I completely ran out of room for more ponies and couldn't make more room without getting rid of things that I absolutely wouldn't ever get rid of, or if I could never find them at an affordable price anymore.

Tell the truth! Do you ever still play with your ponies? Only if cleaning them up, brushing their hair and taking collection photos of them counts as playing!

I would take advantage of the loophole: since they didn't specify which collection in the contract, I'd give up my vintage SSC collection and keep everything else ;-)

How many pony meets/cons have you been to? Two: the 2007 Virginia Pony Meet and 2008 North Carolina Pony Meet.

What got you started collecting as an adult? Ponies were easier to find than Care Bears at the time and I wanted something cute to take home with me instead of constantly striking out on treasure hunts. Now I'm tripping over Care Bears and have a hard time finding ponies!

About how many ponies are in your herd right now?
- Total? About 550-600
- From each generation? G1: Probably pretty close to 400 G2: 7 G3: About 130, down from 200+

What is your ultimate collecting goal? There are a few sets I really want to have completed (TE, SS, Colorswirl, 7 Tales, Princesses) and beyond that, any G1 I can find and the G3s that I really like.

What's your biggest collecting accomplishment to date? Completing the Rainbow Babies set

What's your biggest collecting regret? Not starting sooner!

What's the one pony that just seems to elude you? MLP Tales Melody. When I have the money for her, she's nowhere to be found, and when she does pop up for sale, I'm broke!

What is your favorite pony pose and why? The Baby Glory pose :-) Could be due to Baby Rainribbon being an early childhood favorite, but I just love all baby unicorns in that pose.

Who is your grail pony and why? Do you have it yet? My earliest collecting grail was Colormist because my childhood one got sold at a yard sale. I did eventually get her back! My current grail is Colorswirl Springy. She's the last pony I need to complete the Colorswirls and I can't find one at a decent price!

Who's the one pony you'd never, ever get rid of and why? Quackers, because she was my first :-)

What's a fun or funny memory you have about ponies from when you were little? I got two coloring books and didn't color any pages in them. Not because I wanted to keep them mint, but because I didn't recognize any of the ponies inside and didn't want to color them the wrong colors!

What's your most embarrassing moment? Putting a button down shirt on backward after trying on dresses at the mall, then having it burst wide open while walking down the steps in front of a whole group of guys!
