Ok, mini's are more what I pictured. 
They look so fragile! Do you have to be careful or do they pose pretty well?

The necks are fragile from what I've heard and the feet fall off more than what I would like!

I haven't had a foot fall off yet, but Cailin snatched up poor Sally this weekend and I still can't find one hand and one foot *bawls* I thought she was out of her reach but the little stinker managed to climb up and snag her! O.O The new body style on these dolls lends to somewhat sturdier play, you can literally jerk out each part of her body piece by piece *ex. hand, forearm, upper arm....all are invididual pieces!* The only problem is the necks, you get a few every now and then that were forcibly tied into place too hard and it broke their swivel peg in their neck. Abasca had to deal w/ one of those I think. I haven't had to yet thankfully, but I'm ready if I have to, I completely disassembled the head mechanism on my Sally to repaint her *w/ no previous doll painting, so I was nuts* and I learned enough about them to be comfortable now 
Oh and Julie, I didn't really comprehend how big they were until my first one *the Arietta I had customized into Sally* got here. I was like "holy crap, what am I doing w/ this?!!!"
Well I'll tell you what you do when you get a doll that big! You start hunting for cute clothes, more friends so your one doll doesn't get lonely, and attacking myscene barbies for accessories and furniture, and just in general go ape

I too never realized how large they are. I guess barbie will need platform shoes if I do get one.
