Just out of curiosity.. Who else has a name that kids have trouble pronouncing?
My little cousin called me "Keesa" for the longest time, and I have had quite a few kids call me Ka-ka.
There was one little girl who started out calling me Ka-ka. Then she tried REALLY hard to get more of the sounds in there, she ended up completely skipping over the "ka" part of my name and she couldnt quite get the "r" sound and well.. my name became "Pissa". Everyone joked around for a while that I was number one and number two in her book..

"r" is an especially hard sound for little ones to master. Mostly because it's all done in the back of the throat and you can't learn it from watching someone else talk.
Lots of little kids have difficulties with certain sounds, my middle one has a hard time starting words with a hard consonant without putting an e sound after it LOL
So pants become peants, cat is ceat

Hey there dragonfly.. Yeah I have had quite a few kids call me "Melissa" and "Witha" too.. along, with "Kawitha" "Awitha" "Clarissa" and the list can just go on and on lol. Of course there are many who just smile at me instead of using my name lol.

Well, the strangest mangling of my name was when I was working at a Chinese restaurant. The owners wife had a bit of an accent so Carrie sounded like Kelly (Chinese have a habit of rolling their r's) I just went with it, figured I'd be Kelly at work. Went fine until my family came in to eat and my dad asked one of the other girls to grab me and she called "Hey Kelly" Well, my dad was confused and said, "who's Kelly, my daughter is Carrie" After that they all got upset and said, "why didn't you TELL us we said your name wrong?"
LOL
Other than that, I've been called Erin, Karen...and been mixed up with other kids in my class and called Jaimie...but I'm sure most of us had to deal with teachers like that
My nephew calls my mom Gramoo, couldn't say Grandma when he was little and the name stuck.
