I''m not sure if this is where this belongs or not. If nor feel free to move it.
Can anyone tell me a little bit about these ponies?

I got them off of ebay recently from the UK> Their both a soft plastic, a little more squishy then normal ponies and they have no symbols. They both have light lavender eyes and have Made in China '85 on their hooves. Any information will be most appreciated.[/img]

They are probably prototypes of the pegasus happy tails pony (I think her name was Tall Tales/Tails? with two giraffes symbol) I've seen one before online, absent symbol, and no mechanism for the tail to swish. But if I'm wrong, i hope others will let me know.

The ebay auction said something about one of them being named "Bilie?" I've heard of this before but at the time wasn't all that interested in it. Anyone have a website with more information on bilie? I'm guessing you're correct when you say it's the prototype to the happy tails pony.

Wheee! These are prototypes of Tall Tales the happy tail pony. I'm not exactly sure where the name "billie" came from, but that is what she is commonly referred to as. I've seen way more of these pop up in UK auctions than in US auctions.

So their BOTH Billie? Billie's a sucky name for the ponies! (No offence to anyone who has the name, it really is a nice name) From now on I shall dub thee... Pegasus Posey and Blue Pegasusu Posey!! Cause everything should be posey?

I would name the blue-haired one Bouncy.. 'cause she looks like a deflocked Bouncy.. minus the symbol.

I've seen the pink haired one recently in a lot in UK and she was going for cheap... but I suppose tat she will be be more expensive if she sold alone.

The name usually given to them is actually 'Bobbie' though that's not her name. It's more of a nickname than anything else.
They do pop up from time to time in the UK. I'm afraid I have no clue what they go for, but one of the people on the yahoo group found one last week. We all had a long conversation about them afterwards.
Bobbie isn't the only freaky happy tails pony. There's also one like Squeezer, and Romper as well I think. But Bobbie is the more common one that I've seen. I think the pink hair is more comon than the blue.
I've heard that these freaky ponies were sold in pound shops, but I don't know personally.
They don't have the happy tails mechanisms. I don't even think normal happy tails ponies were sold here (but don't hold me to that!)
But whatever the specifics, that certainly is a nice find!

Yep the one with pink hair is known as Bobbie... I have no clue about the blue haired one though, I have never seen that one before!
Bobbie pops up on UK ebay quite a lot, as LadyG said. There are also known no-symbol, no-mechanism versions of Romper and Squeezer but these show up less often for some reason. Idon't think I've seen versions of the other happytails. (Aside from Princess Woosie but she is not symbol-less!)
I think these were part of the same mix-up of pony parts that resulted in UK mismatched princess variants. (In some cases, the results being a cross between a happytail and a princess - eg Princess Woosie, Princess Tabby). I suppose the factory workers were handed a box of pony parts and told to 'be creative'!
if you're at all interested in selling the blue-haired one lmk... *wink wink* sorry that was a bit cheeky!!

Cool! Thank you all for the help. I've never been into prototypes or variants, like I said I just liked Pegasus Posey:) I was concerned that maybe I did pay to much for them, but after what everyone says I feel very comfortable with the price and might even think I got a pretty good deal. ($34) When I get a chance to I'll clean them up and make sure I post pictures.
