#1: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Kiwi, Location: Brantford, Ontario, CanadaPosted: 0 ---- Lately there has been an increasing trend of members disregarding the sig limits. This is a reminder to all members that it is your responsibility to make sure your own sig fits the limits. That means checking and double checking it - all aspects: height, weight, width - every single time you change something.
This is especially important to remember when using an adoptable made by someone else - it is your responsibility to make sure it is usable as a sig. It is NOT the artist's responsibility to do it for you. If it doesn't fit the limits and you want to use it, you must find your own way to fix it (resize it, save it as another file type, etc). PNG files in particular get quite heavy.
If you don't know how to check your own sig, or want a second opinion - that's what the Sigs & Gallery forum is for, use it. When your sig gets "stomped" by Big Bertha, that's where the banner links to.
Another thing I must mention - when your sig is "stomped" for being over limits.... do not put it back exactly as is! That doesn't fix anything. It was removed for a reason - fix it before putting it back.
A refresher of the limits: 500 pixels wide
200 pixels tall
60 KB weight (file size)
That is total. So if you have 3 images - combined together they must fit those limits.
These aren't new rules, or difficult ones. Having a sig is a privileged, do not abuse it.
#2: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Reiya, Location: Château de ChantillyPosted: 0 ---- Thank you for the reminder Kiwi! I had forgotten about the weight limit...
One question though, does text need to be included in the height? Or is height just meant for the picture? I know that With pictures you can have 2 lines of text and without a picture you can have up to 5. I hope this question makes sense!
#3: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Kiwi, Location: Brantford, Ontario, CanadaPosted: 0 ---- The height is for the images only. That's why text is listed separately as it's own limits.
#4: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Reiya, Location: Château de ChantillyPosted: 0 ---- Thank you for clarifying! I was mortified when I received a visit for Big Sigs, I had failed to notice that PNGs were so heavy!
#5: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: celticowgirl88, Location: MSPosted: 0 ---- Ditto here Reiya!
#6: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: ZettaMomo, Location: MichiganPosted: 0 ---- Same here! I got caught by big sigs the other day because I had some PNG files in my siggy. I made sure to check that the size wasn't to big, but I messed up the weight.
And thank you for the reminder, Kiwi. I think some of us forget about the limits at times and just need a friendly reminder every once in a while.
#7: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Crowpriest, Location: 221B Baker St.Posted: 0 ---- I was caught as well I thought my sig was within the size requirements, but I've made the necessary changes.
#8: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: ZennaBug, Location: Where the wild things arePosted: 0 ---- Thanks for the reminder, Kiwi!
#9: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: fingerpaints, Location: Completely lost - can you help me find my mummy?Posted: 0 ---- Thanks kiwi, I also forgot about the weight limit, and didn't check with my last sig, knew it was fine width & height wise, I don't think this sort of thing was a deliberate thing however, im sure most of the members that had the same sig to mine didn't think to check the weight.
#10: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: stopxmotion, Location: Chicago, ILPosted: 0 ---- Yeah I think it was mostly those of us with the christmas candy sigs.
*hides* So embarrassing.
I know I checked height and width before using it but forgot about the weight too!
#11: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: kittybethy, Location: TexasPosted: 0 ---- Thanks for the reminders!
#12: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Sarahlacewing, Location: OhioPosted: 0 ---- How do I check to make sure I am not in violation?
#13: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: Novavelle, Location: The "No", CaliforniaPosted: 0 ---- I've been trying to figure out why mine had an issue, then I figured out it was the weight (duh blondie) but it should be fixed now.
#15: Re: SIGNATURE REMINDER - ALL READ Author: sd_dreamcrystal, Location: Louisiana, USPosted: 0 ---- Thanks for the Reminder! I've been noticing a lot of the the Big Sigs pony around lately
