By the way, FANTASTIC job, folks!

I used Photoshop to do mine. I opened a new 12X24 page and opened all my images re sized them and duplicated the layers to the 12X24 blank.

great work everyone YAY!

but highlights and i are out of the contest Sad i posted in the last update thread that i've just got too much going on with RL problems Sad so i thought it only right that i post in this thread aswell. sorry to everyone who was looking forward to seeing highlights all finished... i'll probably post a contest-related thread when she's (eventually) done, but as yet i have no idea when i'll be in the right frame of mind to pick her up.

Thanks. Energetic

I realized this AFTER I posted the question. I basicially said, "DUH. Photoshop!" I hope mine looks okay (I posted my final reveal on page 2).

Here she is!

Finished:
Larger pic: i77.photobucket.com/al...inkles.jpg

larger wip pic: i77.photobucket.com/al...lesWIP.jpg

What I did:
Sprinkles had a massive amount of rust and mold inside her body. I boiled her first, then soaked her overnight in oxyclean. Then I took a toothbrush and scrubbed her insides. Pretty much all of it is gone, except in places like the bottoms of her feet, where it was impossible to reach to scrub.

Her head and body were horribly mismatched, I attempted to sunfade her, but it did absolutely nothing, not even lightening the yellow stains on her face. So I opted instead for a fbr. I'm not fond of fbrs ._. She looks very pink, and sometimes I wonder if she's TOO pink, but her paint almost exactly matches the color on the inside ring of her head, which should be her original color. I also had to repaint her duckies, and touch up her eyes.

Her hair was beyond salvageable; even after washing it was unruly, brittle, and dirty (most likely because of the rust in her body.)

I wanted to make her as close to original as possible, so I painted her as close as I could to her original, and styled her hair like it was before I did anything to it. I think she looks so much better now, and happier Happy

So many fantastic ponies!
I LOVE looking at all the improvements from each entry. That SweetTooth is amazing, and I love how white Baby Valentines pony got. Bunnyhop & HighFlyer getting new 'extras' is wonderful too. (How did Highflyers new wing get color? I tried making a new wing out of some clear stuff I found but it never turned out that good--they seem good as new)

I am glad I can join such great entries as all of these.
Mine was the Dream Beauty...
Who%20was%20missing%20a%20symbol,%20turned%20brown,%20frizzed%20&%20faded%20&%20broken%20hairs,%20scuffs%20on%20paint,%20scuffs%20on%20intact%20symbol,%20eye-rubs%20&%20eyeshadow%20rubs. Who%20is%20now%20like%20this: And%20so%20the%20close-ups Feet%20paint%20de-scuffed/repainted Face%20de-browned%20&%20eye%20scuff%20makeup%20scuff%20fixed New%20symbol%20cast%20from%20the%20old%20one: Remaining%20symbol%20fixed%20so%20it%20stays%20upright%20&%20turns%20normally%20now Other%20side%20face: And%20final%20side: Before:

List of things:
Rehaired completely with matching dollyhair colors
Filed out dents in legs from scratches
Repainted legs & eye shadow to eliminate scuffs
Repainted symbol with metallic paint to cure scuffs
Cast new symbol out of sculpey & painted & glued to replace NDS symbol
Sanded down top layer of skin to remove discoloration
Polished skin to restore smoothness after sanding
Used thread wrapped around 'hinge stem' on loose symbol to restore turning action without floppyness (Great method! Got loose symbols on Perfume beauties? Use this! Cheap & easy!)
Incidentally if anyone needs a symbol for this gal, the mold still works--but it turns out a slightly smaller symbol (you can tell by the pictures)

I'm very happy with the way she turned out. It took a LOT of doing, but the results (for everyone really, I'd think) are well worth it.

I'm sorry you've had to drop out, sosoftbuttons. Hug

All of these ponies are AMAZING! As someone who has to help judge... I don't envy me, either. Seriously, these restorations are jaw-droppingly awesome.

Everyone's restorations are amazing! It's been so much fun watching the transformations.

Did we NEED a timestamp on this one?
I see some people have it, and others don't. The original post doesn't mention needing one. But if it's needed, I'll do another.
