Yay pony curls!

I've gotten a couple of questions about hair curling and the rope braid method I've used, and thought it might be fun to work on a little tutorial, since I can never explan these things well in words. Here are a couple quick guides for some fun pony hairstyling techniques. I apologize in advance if these instructions aren't totally clear...

I'm a total dweeb, but I will often spend whole evenings putting straw curls into my ponies hair. Smile

All you need is a roll of paper towels, a bunch of little rubber bands, plastic straws and a brush. I usually just use a pony brush, since I have zillions of them floating around. Smile

Ooh, Jupiter! This is a very well done article! I know how to curl, but I used to just use cut up straws (which I've sad in another thread before I think - they got me in trouble with my dad... Look Round ) and they were always very hard to grab. Your method is so simple and produces such outstanding results, so thanks for writing it up! (:

The rope braids are so cute!! I'll have to try that on my Rarity sometime. Dibble Dabble was getting curls as I read this.
I did the same as BP and cut up the straws. This makes so much more sense!

Thanks!

Thanks for the tutorals! I was wondering how to curl with the straws and I was going to ask, but now I don't need to!

I hope you guys all try this out and then post pictures of your results! I am happy to spread the joy of straw curls. Smile

Here are some results from my curling expedition tonight, as well as some more info.

I love trying out new things to wrap the curls around...I've used markers and colored pencils of various sizes to see how they work. I tried something new tonight and used q-tips...
